For those who want to see Puente Nuevo from an amazing perspective from below, we recommend visiting several places from which you can admire the bridge:
- Mirador Puente Nuevo de Ronda: If you go along Calle Tenorio, you will find a path that leads you to this viewpoint. From there you can walk down a path into the gorge and see the bridge in all its glory. The view from this place is often considered one of the best views of Puente Nuevo.
- Camino de los Molinos: This trail leads down to the Guadalevín river and allows you to see the bridge from river level. It is a great walk with the opportunity to enjoy the dramatic landscape and the monumental bridge from below. It is a quieter path where you can experience the true beauty of the El Tajo gorge and the surrounding nature.
Caves around Ronda
- Cueva de la Pileta: Located near the village of Benaoján, just a few kilometers from Ronda. This cave is famous for prehistoric paintings dating back up to 30,000 years. Inside the cave you can see drawings of animals such as fish, horses or deer, as well as abstract motifs. The tour is with a guide and the cave is accessible only with lamps, which gives the tour an authentic atmosphere. Admission is around 10 €, advance reservation is recommended.
- Cueva del Gato: The “Cat Cave” is located near the village of Montejaque, about 15 kilometers from Ronda. The cave has an impressive entrance resembling a cat’s head and is known for its underground system through which the Guaduares river flows. The water from the cave is very cold, making it a refreshing place to visit, especially on hot days.

Setenil de las Bodegas
Setenil de las Bodegas is a fascinating village built under and into rock overhangs. It is located about 30 minutes from Ronda and is known for its unique houses carved directly into the rocks.
What to do: Walk through the narrow streets of the village where houses are built directly under rock overhangs. Visit local restaurants and bars that are also built into the rocks.
Interesting fact: Setenil is unique in that the rock formations are part of the buildings and provide natural protection from sun and rain.
